Mark Stojani

Mark began dancing tango in 2000. After 3 years he began taking lessons at Siempre Tango under the tutelage of the school’s founder, Carlo Sansour. Carlo’s style, musicality and smooth panther-like movement impressed Mark greatly and became a major inspiration to his dancing. Mark has also undertaken classes and private lessons with Mario Consiglieri, Pablo Inza, Chicho Frumboli, Gustavo Naveira, Sebastian Arce and Melina Brufman. He continues to be inspired by these dancers and also his dance partners and the music.

While he finds it difficult to narrow down his favorite music to dance to he gets itchy feet when he hears Canaro, Di Sarli, D’Arienzo, Biagi, D’Agostino and D’Angelis and also some newer tango.

He commenced teaching late 2004 under the watchful eye of Carlo Sansour and continues to enjoy not only teaching the students of Siempre Tango, but also learning from them.

Ben Thoman

Ben started dancing tango in 2002 with Southern Cross Tango, and from 2003 with Carlo Sansour. During 2004 and 2005 he underwent intensive teacher and performance training under Carlo’s guidance. Ben’s background is predominantly in the Salon style but he enjoys experimenting with other styles. Ben never tires of watching the Cosmotango series of DVDs, finding the styles and techniques of Sebastian Arce, Julio Balmaceda and Chicho particularly inspiring.

Ben’s musical preferences are varied, but he’s currently enjoying D’Arienzo, Di Sarli and Canaro (particularly from the 1930s). He also enjoys a wide variety of “Neo Tango” music, including Bajofondo, Libedinsky, Kevin Johansen and Esteban Morgado, to name a few.

His teaching style is evolving with his dancing, and along with his fellow teachers at Siempre Tango he’s currently emphasising close embrace and connection.

When not dancing Ben is probably tweaking the appearance of this website…

Kellie Spooner and Andrew Gibki

Kellie and Andrew began their Argentine Tango journey with Siempre Tango in late 2004. They are passionate about tango and committed to further learning and improving their dancing.

In class, Kellie and Andrew teach accessible movements to get their students dancing confidently, considerately and creatively as soon as possible, while reinforcing musicality, connection, style and technique.

Kellie and Andrew draw their inspiration from a wide variety of dancers and encompassing different styles of tango. Particularly inspiring to them are tango dancers Geraldine Rojas-Paludi, Javier Rodriguez, Sebastian Arce, Mariana Montes, Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli, Julio Balmaceda, Corina de la Rosa, Milena Plebs, Adrian Veredice, Alejandra Hobert, Eugenia Parrilla, Damien Essel, Nancy Louzan, Pablo Rodriguez, Noelia Hurtado and many more.

While Kellie and Andrew have their own individual musical tastes, they both enjoy dancing to Carlos Di Sarli, Juan D’Arienzo, Miguel Caló, Francisco Canaro, Osvaldo Fresedo, Edgardo Donato, Rodolfo Biagi, early Osvaldo Pugliese and Alfredo De Angelis with a strong bias towards rhythmically interesting and lyrical pieces (both in voice and instrumentation).
