Anna is our most recent Siempre Tango committee recruit and has joined us to work with enrolments for classes in 2007, having begun dancing tango in October 2005. Anna has impressed us all with her positive enthusiasm and we look forward to fun and productive times with her ahead! She tells me that she makes a mean lemon and passionfruit tart as well as all things of the chocolate persuasion, however I haven’t seen proof yet.. Details on Anna:

  • Where were you born? Adelaide, South Australia
  • Favourite colour? Usually red or purple. But I do have an unhealthy fascination with Rainbow coloured pieces of clothing and accessories
  • Favourite gelati flavour? I’m really going to throw a curve ball into this gelati debate..my favourite flavour is roast almond from Paesano’s in North Adelaide. Let the fighting begin! (Ed: Mark, didn’t you explain the cibo-only committee policy to Anna?? Sorry Anna, that’s it, you’re off..)
  • Current profession/place of work? I have just finished six years of being a full-time Uni student and am about to embark on a teaching career. I hope to score a job in a high school which allows me to teach both Music and Maths.
  • What do you want to be when you grow up? A Volcanologist – really! Or famous.. (Meg again…live long and prosper Anna)
  • One thing you can’t do without? One ‘thing’ I can’t do without? My family and friends..but most of them aren’t ‘things.’ My Harp (named Bethany)..but she’s almost human too. Ok, I can’t do without my slippers. They have to be seen to be believed – I have many a story about my slippers.
  • How many pairs of tango shoes do you own? Ummm..well..I have a pair of shoes that i dance tango in, but I guess they’re not officially ‘tango’ shoes.’ Hey, leave me alone, I’ve been a poor student for 6 years! :)
  • Who would you most like to sit next to at a dinner party? Johnny Depp, Sean Connery and Felix (the lead singer of the band The Cat Empire) across the table from me for some eye candy.
  • Favourite tango moment? I believe I’ve been fortunate to have had two of those ‘amazing’ tango moments that I hear all you experts talking about. What makes them so special to me is that the finer details of those dancers are a blur in my memory. All I seem to remember is that everything just worked – two bodies but one rhythm. Since it was such a personal moment I’m not going to tell you who they were with..
