If you’re not doing anything Monday night (7.30pm 18 June) you might want to check out Wong Kar-wai’s Happy Together at the Mercury Cinema (13 Morphett Street). It’s a great movie with tango in it (ie, I’m not saying it’s a Great Tango Movie!). Set in Buenos Aires, with two lovers played by Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung, it’s about exile, isolation, impossible love….There are some breathtaking shots of the Iguazu Falls.
More info from the Mercury.
Now, I think it’s great, but i have quirky tastes, so check out a review and a another review which also refers to the great music (Piazolla included).
