Lonely Planet now have a feature on their world guide to highlight the places in the world to go dancing… How long before Adelaide rates a mention under the tango category :)

Hah! This is cool. Have a search of their bluelists for “Tango” or “Buenos Aires” and have a read through some of the related info. Cool find. :)

Yeah, the australian continent doesn’t have a pin on it yet.

The Argentina pin is not exactly over Buenos Aires… in fact could it actuall be on Chile?

no, it could not. it’s a big bullet to the right…

Bullet or a pin?

At 17:33 on Wednesday, 17 May 2006 Ana said:

There is no answer to that. You just can’t separate the bullet from the pin because one would not make sense without the other.

But there is no bullet. It’s a pin. So, clearly, the point is the sharp end. Which, I think you’ll agree is located in the centre of the peninsular above Cape Horn. This, to my eye is pretty much smack bang in the straight of Magellan, which is actually Chilean territory. By your reasoning, Scottish Highland dancing is actually native to Scandinavia and Salsa to somewhere 1000 kms of the coast of Cuba. :)

You certainly wouldn’t expect the people at Lonely Planet to be geographically challenged so it was either a freelancer with very little map reading ability or a work experience student they were really struggling to find work for.

He he. How is the Chilean tango scene by the way?

What do you mean there is no bullet??? The pin is the one that complicates everything. If they would have made the bullets smaller and placed them on the right country then we wouldn’t be here right now. The pins don’t do much there, they blend in with the continents.

Oh, I see what you mean. As in a sewing pin. OK, go away. :)
