This Friday, June 16, join us at Higher Ground for Milonga Para los Niños! A special fundraising milonga with all proceeds being donated to Para los Niños who provide funds to people working directly with underprivileged children and youths in Argentina.

Download the flyer here.

Higher Ground is at 274A Rundle Street (entry off Charlicks Lane, opposite the Palace Cinema. Entry is $20 or $15 concession.

Just coming through the door will give you a chance to win two fabulous door prizes: a dinner voucher for $150 at Gauchos’ Argentinian Restaurant or a dinner voucher for $100 at Sosta’s Argentinian Kitchen! With many thanks to both restaurants for their generous support.

From 8:30-9:30pm there will be an introductory Argentine Tango class, and everyone is welcome, with a free 4-week beginner course to be won!

From 9:30pm onward, DJ Ben will keep people dancing with a wide variety of music. At about 10:30pm there will be a sensational lineup of performances:

  • Sarah and Daniel Foster of Dansar Productions dancing a sophisticated foxtrot and a cha-cha.
  • La Bomba (below left) steaming up the floor with salsa!
  • Meral Nieman and John Saunders with all the slides, dips and aerials of The Swing Sesh
  • ...and of course Siempre Tango!

We grateully thank all of the performers who have offered their time and energy to promote this inaugral fundraising event. The performances will be followed by more general dancing and the chance to win the following raffle prizes:

  • Two nights luxury accommodation in Deep Creek.
  • A second dinner voucher for $150 at Gaucho’s Argentinian Kitchen.
  • Seamstress services to make one tango dress.
  • Dinner voucher for $50 at Zapata’s Mexican Restaurant
  • Dinner voucher for $50 at The Place Next Door.

And more…! Vouchers from Dancers World , dinner voucher for the Trak restaurant, 2 tickets to the Windmill Performing Arts production of Two Weeks with the Queen and two magnums of wine from Skye Cellars to be won in a dancing ‘spot’ prize! Who will end the song in the winning spot on the dance floor…?!

With special thanks to all of the organisations, individuals and businesses that have donated their time and energy, or goods and prizes in order to help us raise funds for Para los Ninos.

We’re looking forward to a great night!

This is a non-dancer friendly event. Please invite all of your friends who prefer just to watch. The performances will be exquisite and the cause is excellent! Plus the prizes are simply superb!
