It was a cause for alarm last night following the practica when the Daniel was already in the process of shutting-down, but, we wandered elsewhere to the Royal Oak. No comfy couches but some fun 80’s music – ask Specky & Anna for a rendition of Heart of Glass…they ain’t bad!

But, I wandered into the Daniel today to say hello and to see whether the early closing was an indication that it had changed hands. It hasn’t yet, and is still up for sale (if anyone is interested in buying a hotel…I’d love to hold a milonga in that back room with the middle raised bit being the dance floor…) they were dismayed to have missed us and promised to be more alert for next time, which won’t be until Thursday August 10 for the next practica. Which does of course mean we’ll miss the chance for a repeat performance featuring Wham…
