The weekend has been and gone, and we have had lots of fantastic responses from people who loved the workshops, the milonga, the performances, and especially, the warmth and fun of our special guests, Adrian and Alejandra . They ran workshops on tango salon, boleos, colgadas, milonga and more, and people kept leaving with smiles on their faces; it’s such a fun thing to see people inspired by tango. Here, as in Perth, Byron Bay and Canberra, the host communities have all had a great time with Adrian and Alejandra’s teaching and company.

Their performance on Friday night at the Establishment was gorgeous, with some people amazed that only one of the four pieces was choreographed – the rest was all performance tango at its spontaneous, improvised best! Finally all the women got to see how amazing Alejandra’s boleos really are! We also had a ball launching some great fun new activities for Siempre Tango, and Adrian and Alejandra both commented on the good energy and welcoming community atmostphere here in Adelaide. Kellie had a fun birthday dance, with Adrian receiving a great round of applause when he interrupted to take part, and the winners of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Carmina Burana tickets were also very happy. Many thanks to Di Kidd for arranging the tickets for this event, showing Friday October 20 and Saturday October 21.

We hope to have Adrian and Alejandra back in Adelaide again soon…thank you all again for making the weekend such a well attended success, it makes the effort all worthwhile. Happy practising, and stay tuned for many many more photos from me, Ben, Andrew & Stephen!!
