Well, if you weren’t there – you missed out!
A glorious day of warm blue sunshine greeted us and tango tunes floated across the parklands as DJ Benny kept the public curious. Throughout the afternoon a steady flow of onlookers surrounded the Rotunda to watch and occasionally to have a try..
Di K rounded up some new members and Andrew G revelled in his first teaching role with ST during an impromptu class on the lawns. Kellie S and Gerda M helped our youngest tangeuros on the dance floor, and Cruz went for a cruise round the floor with her son.
Ellie R discovered the danger of a light breeze and Andrew M took on a new role in photography! We discovered a groovy new look for tango with sunglasses and street shoes everywhere..though mainly for leaders such as Amir S, hhhmmm. Colleen Y shared a delightful range of munchies for the hungry, Laura W tried to convince locals of the merits of mate, we discovered Michael S’s taste for twisties & even Pearl P made an appearance!
Kasia, Jurek, Lucy & Frank chose the sunny side of the Rotunda as the sun began to set; Jacky M and Dave W made late appearances. Junko B looked elegant in a lovely hat, Ana stood out in blue, and Lynne T cycled in all the way from home. Chook and Julio perused but stayed clear of the dance floor; Mark & Rachel took a quick break from their rehearsals for Nabucco and whirled round the Rotunda before heading back. Anna L was supposed to be someplace else but couldn’t stay away, and Mike L is looking more and more comfortable on the floor. We all agreed Josh V’s new look is a winner and Clare M became particularly close to the Rotunda (see the photos).

And just a day later we received an email saying “Thanks guys for a brilliant afternoon at the Rotunda – very enjoyable!” We’re already into booking the 2007/2008 series, but even so, missing the next Summer Assault event is pure silliness! :)
Next Summer Assault Milonga: La Estrella, Tuesday November 28, 7-10pm, Riverbank Promenade, Torrens side of the Convention Centre.

Congratulations to the committee for a great initiative – another big tick for Siempre Tango. Sorry we missed it, but looking forward to the next one.
