Okay, it’s not quite La Viruta, but it could come close! In Bs As there is a high energy, very well attended milonga in a dark underground space which explodes with a mix of tango and high-octane swing called La Viruta. People loved Meral and John from The Swing Sesh so much at Para los Ninos last year, that we approached them to see whether we might be able to organise a regular social dance together..and here it is!

It was going to be held at the Establishment, which has obviously closed down, so for the time being we are heading to the Eastwood Community Centre, 95 Glen Osmond Road, Eastwood on Friday February 16.

Entry is $10/8 with a swing class being run by Meral and John from 8:00-9:00pm. Both ladies and gentlemen are welcome to come along to try your hand at leading. The class will be followed by social dancing with a variety of both tango and swing music provided by DJ Benny. Please bring your own drinks and snacks. Obviously it is the first time we have tried it, and continuing with the concept will depend upon the feedback we receive from you, both verbally but also through your participation! We hope it is great fun for everyone.
