Well, last night’s Tango Bar at The Banque was a fantastic night, in which Adelaide experienced a once in a lifetime (or at least a long time) opportunity to dance with professional stage performers. Siempre Tango hosted some of the cast of Tango Fire, which shows tonight at the Thebarton Theatre.

The cast were incredibly gracious and happy to dance with the locals. Meg and Tiziana turned the tables on the Argentine traditions and asked Pablo Sosa to dance, both were nervous initially but didn’t regret it and he too wandered off the dance floor with a big smile.

Ta, Mark, Bob, Peter and Ben danced with Mariela and Yanina. Peter was heard to remark that dancing with Yanina was “like you were wearing her”, their ability to give the impression that they were relying on you for support while in fact completely maintaining their own balance was one of those great illusions of tango.

Who knows… maybe we’ll be lucky enough to experience it again at Sosta tonight…
