Diego Alvaro Workshops

Southern Cross Tango will be hosting Diego Alvaro from Friday 15th July until Monday 18th July for workshops and he will also be attending the Historian Milonga on the Friday night.

Diego Alvaro is a charmingly elegant dancer & teacher of the popular El Abrazo Tango Club in Buenos Aires. Since 1995 Diego has been running classes and Milongas at one of the tango landmarks of Buenos Aires – La Confiteria Ideal, the beautiful & historic venue that was famously featured in the films “Tango” directed by Carlos Saura, & “The Tango Lesson” directed by Sally Potter. La Ideal is the milonga of dreams, featuring in just about every tango film ever made in Argentina. It’s a gracious old salon with timber and mirrored feature walls, columns, marble floors, original bathrooms, and a fantastic period ‘cage’ lift in need of restoration
