We are delighted to host the talented Marce Ospina who is flying in from Melbourne for a weekend of two workshops suited to everyone who wants to improve their tango. Originally from Medellin, Colombia, Marce is a prominent figure of the Melbourne tango community, partnering and working alongside Fabio Robles and Leonel Colque as well as partnering a favourite previous visitor to Adelaide, Sebastian Arrua at the New Zealand Tango Festival. Her teaching philosophy consists of developing confidence in the social dancer to express their identity while incorporating specific movements in their own body.

Details: All workshops held at Don Pyatt Hall, 175 The Parade, Norwood

Wshop 1 Sat 21st, 12-1.30pm Ladies Technique(Part 1) fundamentals such as balance, walking, posture and basic management of heels, this mainly to build a better understanding on how to perform pivots and effortless steps (either fd, back, side and with pivots in between). (Part 2) Focus on Milonga rhythm (it is a great opportunity for the followers to work on quick switch of weight on fast music) FUN!

Wshop 2 Sun 22nd, 12-1pm Mixed Fem/Male Technique – Performing giros/pivots based on a routine of ochos and isolation exercises that will help strengthening the heels, toes and ball of the feet (this is great for both followers and leaders and it does not need a partner). Exercises for implementation of enrosques and disassociation. This class is very much focussed on own technique and balance rather than partnering (following / leading).

Cost: Workshop 1 (1.5hrs) $25. Workshop 2 (1hr) $20.

Payable at Thurs practica, Wed classes or on the day. Please get in early!
