Check out this National Geographic documentary about tango. Using the photography of Pablo Corral Vega, it explores Argentine Tango’s origins ‘when the diverse music of European immigrants, freed African slaves and gauchos from the pampas fused together. Since then it has gotten under the skin of those who love its poetry, song, music and dance. It is a way of life. It speaks to the soul. But for devotees now suffering national economic woes, tango is also a way to survive.’ The rest? Well, you’ll have to check it out yourself.
